The Good, the Bad and the Downright Terrible Tattoos

Terrible tattoos can be a source of entertainment for some people. Others find them irksome or an eyesore. What could be considered as terrible tattoos for some, others consider it art.

Below are some terrible tattoos everyone could agree on:

Swastikas and other Symbols with Negative Meaning – In some cultures, a swastika used to have positive meanings. Many ancient cultures look to a swastika to symbolize light or the sun. You can thank The Nazi’s for turning this around when they used it to kill millions of innocent people. A tattoo of a swastika is generally frowned upon nowadays. Other symbols like a triskele were used by white supremacist groups in the past. Seeing symbols like these on people’s tattoos makes you think that the person sporting this tattoo somehow supported the cause that these tattoos represent.

Cuss Words – Totally inappropriate everywhere in the world, yet some people still think it’s cool to have the word “f*ck you” tattooed on them. Seriously, why would anyone want trashy words permanently etched on their skin?

Names of Their Significant Other – Here’s a gentle reminder to everyone planning to get a tattoo. Not all relationships have a happy ending. Having the name of your current beau tattooed on your ass will not make the relationship last forever. If anything it might even cause your breakup.

Photo of Their Significant Other – This one’s right up there with the name. What happens when you break up and you see your ex’s face every time you shower? Not a pretty picture. The one thing that can take both these off this list is if the tattoo is for a departed significant other. Because then it has a deeper meaning.

Pornographic Tattoos – This just tells the world what a total pervert you are. Unless someone drugs you and you woke up one day with a tattoo of a penis and no recollection of how it happened, then you’re not forgiven.

Sexually Suggestive/ Racist Tattoos – Its offensive period! Even if the words did not come from your mouth it could still be construed as harassment!

A Bomb – This might seem harmless but imagine you are at the airport or inside an aircraft and some kid remarks at your bomb tattoo within hearing distance of an airline officer. There is a chance you could get in trouble. Most airports and airline companies nowadays ban the use of the words bomb or guns, even as a joke. These are always taken seriously especially after the 9/11 incident.

terrible terrorist tattoo

Symbols that Support Terrorism – This is one of the most terrible tattoos to date. Though this is not common, as terrorist members would often want to hide their affiliation, some people still think it’s ok to have tattoos like this. Others do support Al Qaeda and other terrorist. Having this kind of tattoo will make people think you could be a terrorist plotting to kill or cause mass destruction.

Misspelled Words – This one is sometimes not your fault and can be funny instead of terrible. Tattoos that are misspelled or placed backwards make for a funny story afterward. Unfortunately for you, somebody else’s mistake is now a permanent reminder. Make sure you go to a reputable tattoo parlour next time.

Your tattoos say a lot about you as a person. So be vigilant, learn about symbols before you choose a design. What you think might be a good symbol can mean the opposite.

*Note from Sick Tattoos – Unfortunately, we were not able to find the information on the artists who are responsible for these tattoos. If you happen to know who did one of these pieces, please feel free to leave a comment and let us and the rest of the readers know!
